This beautiful enamel pin designed by New Zealand bird artist Melissa Boardman is inspired by  New Zealand’s rarest and most at-risk bird, the precious tara iti or fairy tern.

There are only 40 of these shorebirds in existence. Their population hangs in the balance and is kept afloat thanks to dedicated conservationists.
